Yoga or Mediation. Why we should do both

Yoga and meditation are both wonderful practices, but they’re not the same thing. In fact, they’re very different. So, what’s the difference between yoga and meditation?

Yoga is a physical practice that focuses on moving your body in a variety of poses and positions to improve strength and flexibility. There are many types of yoga, but the most common ones involve holding poses for several minutes at a time — sometimes longer

Meditation is a mental practice that involves focusing your mind on one thing for a period of time—usually 10–20 minutes at a time or more. It can be difficult to meditate for this long if you’re new to it, so start with shorter periods of time until you feel comfortable extending them further into the future (a few weeks).

Why do we need both yoga and meditation?

Both yoga and meditation are excellent ways to build mindfulness into your daily life—especially when they’re practiced together! Here’s why:

I have been practicing yoga for the past 15 years and meditation for 13. I love both of them, but they do different things for my body, mind, and soul. When I am feeling like I need to focus on my body, I go to a yoga class. If I want to relax and reconnect with my inner self, then I meditate.

Yoga helps you ground yourself by strengthening your body and increasing your flexibility. It also helps with balance and concentration. You can use yoga as a form of exercise or simply as a way to relax and unwind after a long day at work. Yoga does wonders for your physical health because it builds muscle mass, which burns calories—something that is especially important for women who want to stay fit after pregnancy or menopause.

Meditation allows you to clear your mind of all those thoughts that keep popping up in your head all day long. When you meditate, you can focus on one single thought at a time, which allows you to gain clarity about what is really important in your life right now. Meditation is also beneficial for people who suffer from stress or anxiety because it reduces cortisol levels in the body, which makes it easier for them to relax after stressful situations arise during their day-to-day
